galium-verum
Photo name: galium-verum
Flowering plant. A medicinal plant, this one has also been used as a vegetable rennet. The real identification is the scent. It should be very honeylike. If it's scentless you've got a rather worthless hybrid with G. boreale on your hands. Liljendal, Finland. Wild. 1993-07-01

Rubiaceae. Engl.: lady's bedstraw, yellow spring bedstraw, cheese rennet, cheese renning, maid's hair, our lady's bedstraw, petty mugget, yellow bedstraw. Deu.: Echtes Labkraut, Labkraut, Gliedkraut, Käslabkraut, Liebfrauenstroh, Liebkraut, Mundfäulkraut, Sternkraut. Suom.: keltamatara. Sven.: gulmåra, jungfru Marie sänghalm, trätogräs. More on this plant.
