523. SCROPHULA'RIA NODO'SA Linné.—FIGWORT. This indigenous herb is peculiar from the rank, foetid odor of the leaves, especially when fresh. It has alterative, diuretic, and anodyne properties, and is used in hepatic diseases, scrofula, cutaneous diseases, dropsy, and as a depurative. Dose of fluidextract: 30 to 60 drops (2 to 4 mils).
