Absinthium, in No. 20 powder 10.00 | 2 ounces
Alcohol (20 per cent.) 75.00 | 15 fl. ounces

Macerate the absinthium with 50 (10 fluid ounces) of the alcohol for twenty-four hours, stirring frequently, press off the liquid, treat the residue with the remainder of the alcohol, and again press; mix the expressed liquids, heat on a water-bath to coagulate albumin, allow to stand for two days, filter, and evaporate to the consistence of a soft extract.
Dose.—6 to 12 decigrams (10 to 20 grains).
