You might want to try horsetail. It's a very good source of silica which is great for connective tissue repair.
I'm a massage therapist and I was having a lot of trouble with the tendons in my wrist from constant hyperextention of my wrist joint due to my work. I thought Iwas going to have to give up massage. I did some research and began taking horsetail, I was amazed at the results. My wrists never bother me now but my nails and hair grow faster,I noticed this happened after I started taking it because I need to keep my nails short and they were growing much faster then they did before Iwas taking the horsetail. It seems to have a good effect on all connective tissue.
I've recommended it to clients, some who have recent surgeries and others who have chronic problems, all seem to have very favorable results. So you can see, I'm pretty impressed by horsetail and I hope you can benefit too.
It comes in capsules of ground powder and it's pretty inexpensive- Good luck
